Neuschwanstein Castle can only be visited within a guided tour. We offer guided tours in German and English by our own personnel. Visitors who do not speak one of these languages can make use of our audio guide tours, which are available in Japanese, French, Spanish, Italian, Czech, Slovenian, Russian, Polish, Chinese (Mandarin), Portuguese and Hungarian.
Both kinds of tours last approximately 30 minutes.
You can book the ticket for your guided tour in advance (one day before the desired castle visit at the latest) at the
Ticketcenter Hohenschwangau.
In case you would like to book a private guided tour please contact our
administrative office.
During the regular tour you will have to climb 169 steps and descend 204.
Near the castle there is a toilet for the disabled.
Every Wednesday we offer special guided tours for wheelchair and walker users. These special tours always take place after the official opening times (and are not held on Wednesdays that coincide with public holidays):
October to March: 4 pm
April to September: 6 pm
The special tour must be booked beforehand at the
administrative office.
Please book well in advance!
