The Free State of Bavaria and its employees are not liable for any damage incurred by the utilization or non-utilization of the information on the Internet site of the Bavarian Palace Department. This exclusion of liability does not apply in cases involving the regulations of § 839 BGB (liability incurred through breach of official duties).

There is no liability for any damage incurred through calling up or downloading data - as a result of computer viruses - or through installing or using software.

Internet pages bearing authors' names reflect the knowledge and opinions of the authors.

The Bavarian  Palace Department reserves the right to alter, add to or delete individual web pages or the whole site or to temporarily or permanently take the publication off the Internet without making a separate announcement to this effect.

According to the relevant laws, the Bavarian Palace Department is only responsible for its "own contents" on the website.

These own contents must be distinguished from links to the websites of other providers. A link gives the Bavarian Palace Department access to contents provided by others.

With the link, the Bavarian Palace Department only provides access for the use of these contents. It is not responsible for these "outside" contents, as it is not instigating the conveyance of this information, has not selected the target groups of the information conveyed and has not selected or altered this information. With the method of calling up and linking that is used this "outside information" is not automatically temporarily stored, so that the Bavarian Palace Department does not thereby incur responsibility for these outside contents.

When the links to these other Internet sites were set up, however, the editorial office of the Bavarian Palace Department examined them with respect to any liability it might incur under civil or criminal law. Every time an Internet file is accessed, the following access data are stored by the Bayerisches Landesamt für Statistik und Datenverarbeitung (Bavarian Statistics and Data Processing Office):

• the page containing the file
• the name of the file
• the date and time of access
• the quantity of data
• the access status (file transferred, file not found etc.)
• description of the type of web browser or operating system used
• the IP address of the computer accessing the file.

The stored data are used exclusively for technical or statistical purposes; no comparison is made with other existing data and neither the information nor extracts from it are passed to third parties.

Following the evaluation of all visits to the site over the course of a year, the recorded data are deleted. Evaluation is monthly and yearly and deletion takes place in January of the following year. The evaluation and deletion are carried out on behalf of the Bavarian Palace Department by employees of the Bavarian Statistics and Data Processing Office.

Cookies, JAVA-Applets, Active-X-Controls and/or Javascript applications may be used in the information provided by the Bavarian Palace Department. Use of these functions can be cancelled by settings in the user's browser programme.

Any personal information (e.g. name, e-mail address) that we receive is only used solely for the purpose designated. Any acquisition of personal data or transmission of the same to governmental institutions or agencies will be carried out only within the framework of binding national legislation. None of your data will be transmitted to private third parties unless explicitly approved by you. Our staff are bound to secrecy and to compliance with the pertinent statutory provisions under data protection law.
